Responsibility
We’ve rolled out an integrated management system that keeps our SHREQ commitments front and centre, driving continuous improvement and staying in tune with stakeholder expectations. Our leadership team actively oversees all processes, setting the direction while empowering site-level teams to tailor their approach to local regulations.
SHREQ principles

Safety
We uphold the highest safety standards with consistent process and plant safety measures, rigorously monitored to ensure compliance and effectiveness. Occupational health and safety risks are under constant review, with proactive steps taken to minimise hazards—especially at critical points where people and technology interact. Our accident rate (LTIR) serves as a vital benchmark, with annual targets driving continuous improvement and technical managers overseeing safety checks for all plant modifications.
When malfunctions or accidents occur, we act swiftly to safeguard people and the environment, supported by a robust emergency management system and regular drills. Product safety is equally a priority: we help customers and partners handle our products responsibly and sustainably, keeping them fully informed of potential risks and the necessary precautions.

Health
Occupational health and safety sit at the heart of our operations, ensuring full compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards across all sites. We empower individuals through targeted training and foster a health-focused corporate culture. All occupational health management (OHM) initiatives are transparently documented on our intranet for easy access.
By cultivating a health-conscious work environment, we boost performance, job satisfaction, and overall well-being—while also reducing absenteeism and operational costs. Our holistic approach includes workplace health promotion, occupational integration management, and proactive measures to protect against both physical and mental health risks. Employees are encouraged to take charge of their personal health and fitness, supported by engaging programmes and active initiatives.

Regulations
Our Regulatory Affairs team safeguards legal compliance in chemical approvals, protecting both people and the environment—because the future is shaped by the actions we take today. Bringing together chemists, engineers, biologists, physicists, and ecotoxicologists, we offer expert guidance on REACH, CLP, safety data sheets, biocides, hazardous goods, certifications, and supplier qualifications.
We simplify complex regulatory challenges—whether it’s REACH registrations, biocide usage, or interpreting safety data sheets. Unsure about compliance, product classifications, or legal obligations? Our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Environment
We’re committed to minimizing climate-impacting emissions wherever possible by driving continuous improvements in environmental performance throughout our value chain. This spans everything from optimizing raw material use and energy consumption to refining plant processes, transportation, and product recycling or disposal. We also give preference to suppliers and partners who not only demonstrate competence and reliability but also share our corporate principles.
Our actions are grounded in the Guidelines of the Chemical Trade for the Safe Handling of Chemicals and strengthened by our active participation in the global Responsible Care initiative. Together, these commitments empower us to continually advance safety, health, and environmental protection—progress that is regularly verified by external auditors.

Quality
At OQEMA, quality is at the centre of everything we do—shaping our actions, products, and services to meet the highest standards. Guided by the OQEMA Code of Conduct, we consider the interests of all stakeholders and build customer relationships as equal partnerships, anticipating needs and responding with agility.
Our processes are aligned with industry-specific systems to strengthen our network and expand certifications where they add value. Our quality management foundation rests on ISO 9001:2015 and the VCH association guidelines, complemented by GMP+ and ISO 22000 certifications in select units.
