Silanes improve adhesion to glass, metals, ceramics, and plastics, while increasing chemical and thermal resistance.
Q-SIL

Smart silanes for demanding applications
Q-SIL silanes feature dual-functionality: an organic end group tailored to the resin system and a reactive alkoxy group for bonding to inorganic surfaces. This makes them ideal as coupling agents, surface modifiers, and adhesion promoters. Whether improving pigment wetting, reinforcing filler bonds, or enhancing moisture resistance, Q-SIL delivers performance where it counts – at the interface.
Where Q-SIL works best
Adhesives & Sealants
Paints, Coatings & Colours
Enhances pigment wetting, adhesion, water resistance, and durability. Particularly effective for primers, anti-corrosion coatings, and hydrophobic surfaces.
Plastics & Rubber
Improves compatibility between fillers and polymers (thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers) and acts as a crosslinking agent in silane-modified polyolefins.
Construction Materials
Used in concrete additives, waterproofing systems, and bonding enhancers for construction sealants and adhesives.
Electronics & Casting
Q-SIL silanes improve flow, curing, and electrical resistance in casting resins and encapsulants.
Q-SIL product highlights
Silanes in the Q-SIL range are defined by their dual reactivity: an organic functional group that interacts with resin systems, and alkoxy groups that bond with inorganic substrates like glass, minerals, and metals. This makes them highly effective as coupling agents, crosslinkers, surface modifiers, and adhesion promoters across a wide range of industrial applications. Below is a selection of representative Q-SIL grades, illustrating the diversity of functionalities and use cases within our portfolio. Download out brochure for a full overview of available silanes.

Q-SIL APOS-DAMO-HP
Functionality: Alkyl
Our APOS-DAMO HP (= Adhesion Promoter Oligomeric Silane DAMO-Hydrophobic Polymer) is an oligomeric bisaminosilane primarily used as an additive in adhesives and sealants to improve wet adhesion on various substrates, including concrete, aluminum and PVC. It also enhances the tensile strength and modulus of the formulation and reduces yellowing in highly elastic products. It is also suitable for use in the coatings industry, where it can be used to treat inorganic fillers or as an additive to enhance the overall performance and quality of products.
Q-SIL DAMO
CAS No: 1760-24-3
Functionality: Amino
Primarily used as a coupling agent and surface modifier, its bifunctional structure enables it to establish chemical bonds between inorganic materials and organic polymers, improving the materials' adhesion, wet strength, water resistance, and dispersibility. It is widely used in coatings, adhesives, sealants, glass fibers, fillers (such as silica and clay) and composite materials.
Q-SIL GLYEO
CAS No: 2602-34-8
Functionality: Epoxy
It is mainly used as a silane coupling agent to connect inorganic fillers (such as glass, metal, silica) with organic polymer materials (such as epoxy resin, polyurethane, acrylic resin) to improve the mechanical properties, weather resistance, water resistance and adhesion of the materials. It is widely used in coatings, sealants, adhesives, composite materials and surface treatment.
Q-SIL GLYMO
CAS No:2530-83-8
Functionality: Epoxy
It is a colorless, transparent liquid primarily used as a coupling agent and modifier to improve the adhesion between fillers and substrates. It can be used in coatings, adhesives, sealants, composite materials and other fields, particularly where improvements in pigment dispersion, water resistance, mechanical strength and durability are required.
Q-SIL MEMO
CAS No: 2530-85-0
Functionality: Metacryloxy
It is primarily used as a coupling agent, it improves the adhesion between inorganic materials (such as fillers and glass fibers) and organic materials (such as plastics, rubber, and coatings) by forming chemical bonds to enhance bonding strength. Applications include plastics, rubber, paints, coatings, adhesives and surface modification, such as treating glass fibers in fiberglass reinforced plastics to improve their compatibility with resins.
Q-SIL OCTEO
CAS No: 2943-75-1
Functionality: Alkyl
It is mainly used as a high-efficiency penetrating building waterproof protective agent, which can penetrate into the substrate to form a hydrophobic three-dimensional silicone resin network, protecting concrete and stone from moisture, acid and alkali corrosion; it is also a surface treatment agent for inorganic fillers and pigments, used to improve their dispersibility and compatibility in polymers such as plastics and rubber.
Q-SIL TES 28
CAS No: 78-10-4
Functionality: Alkoxy
It is a key organosilicon material, mainly used as a precursor of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), a cross-linking agent for organosilicon polymers and a binder for coatings (such as heat-resistant coatings and anti-corrosion coatings). It is also widely used in precision casting, optical glass processing, semiconductor manufacturing and other fields. It can also be used to synthesize organosilicon intermediates and manufacture aerogels and phosphors.
Q-SIL VTEO
CAS No: 78-08-0
Functionality: Vinyl
A versatile silane coupling and crosslinking agent, it is widely used as an adhesion promoter between various polymers (such as polyethylene and unsaturated polyester) and inorganic materials (such as glass fiber and silica). Key applications include wire and cable manufacturing (silane crosslinking polyethylene), specialty coatings and adhesives, rubber and plastic products and surface modification of inorganic materials.
Q-SIL VTMO
CAS No:2768-02-7
Functionality: Vinyl
It is primarily used as a crosslinking agent, particularly for the silane crosslinking of polyethylene (PE), resulting in high-performance wire, cable, and tubing. It is also used as a coupling agent to enhance the adhesion between glass fibers, inorganic fillers, and polymers (such as resins), thereby improving the mechanical strength and water resistance of composite materials. It is also used in the production of specialty coatings and as a moisture scavenger in adhesives and sealants.
